10 Years of Excellence at Laurent Ferrier

It’s hard to imagine that there was ever a time when Laurent Ferrier was not a staple in the watch industry. But as unbelievable as it sounds, the Maison is just around 10 years, even when it seems longer with winning an award at the prestigious Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix in 2010 with its Galet Classic. And then there were numerous other complicated watches: tourbillons, a minute repeater, a natural escapement, a dual time and even an annual calendar. In addition, Laurent Ferrier has released an arry of different case shapes, includign its iconic Classic.
And of course, Laurent Ferrier celebrates its 10th anniversary with the release of a classical watch featuring a timeless dial and case ensemble.

The Classic Origin Opaline is designed for those who value sobriety and virtue. Created to mark the 10th anniversary of the company, this latest model is housed in a 40 mm classic case and emcompasses the same smooth curving lines as the inaugural model. However, in this instance, the case is made from titanium, imbuing the watch with a youthful temperatment.
Consistent with the Laurent Ferrier’s inclination for uncluttered aesthetics, the Classic Origin Opaline exhibits a clean appearance. Assegai-shaped hour and minute hands serenely float above a silvery-white opaline dial. The slate grey dial’s hour track is marked with burgundy-colored numerals which prove highly legible, add a bit a sportiness, but remain understated. A small snailed seconds display, featuring a baton-shaped hand is located above 6 o’clock. All three hands are made of white gold.

As mentioned, the case is made from titanium and it’s the first time, Laurent Ferrier uses this lightweight, corrosion-resistant and hypoallergenic alloy. The watch is equipped with the Maison’s iconic Ball-shaped crown.

The Classic Origin Opaline is powered by a brand new calibre, the LF 116.01. This hand-wound movement works at a frequency of 3 Hz and is visible via the exhibition case back and is beautifully refined. Assuming the calibre is fully wound, it provides a power-reserve of 80 hours.

Laurent Ferrier pairs this watch with a light brown Barbialla calf leather strap, lined with Alcantara.
