Under the motto „Urban Survivor“ watch manufacturer Hanhart appeals to performance-oriented high achievers seeking adventures off the beaten tracks with its new limited special edition Primus Survivor Pilot. The black forest-inspired design, which is limited to a quantity of 50, „accompanies those who seek a balanced lifestyle of intense professional life and active leisure time“. That’s a difficult balance for any company to achieve, because when the aim of design is balance, the risk is always compromise.
With this watch Hanhart combines its 130-year long tradition with modern elements. The Primus Survivor Pilot chronograph features (like the entire collection) the manufacturers unmistakable distinctive trademarks: the red push button and the typical “bi-compax” display arrangement. The dial’s bronze green finish is placed under sapphire glass. The Arabic number twelve and the luminous indices dominate Hanharts distinctive clean design, and ensures the best possible readability during day- and nighttime. On 9 o’clock is the dial for the small second, the 30-minute counter is placed at 3 o’clock at 6 o’clock is the date display.
The matte, sand blasted and rugged 44 milimeter stainless steel case with a sapphire glass case back grants the view to the automatic chronograph movement and its skeletonized rotor.
The movement is the HAN3089 which is a modified 7750 base and features a skeletonized rotor. It has a power reserve of 42 hours.
A fabric strap featuring a sandblasted, stainless steel folding clasp complements the sportive appearance of the Survivor Pilot. Flexible lugs offer the wearer high comfort but they can not hide the fact, that this watch is tall with a military appearance and difficult to be worn with a more formal dress.
The watches outdoor characteristics are clearly in the forefront. “Urban Survivor” stands behind the philosophy of this chronograph. With this watch the company proves, that it is possible to design a watch that looks like and operates as well as a genuine Pilots watch, while remaining suitable for a professional life in the city.
