Watch manufacturer Gaspard Sartre has upgraded its collection just in time for Christmas. Gaspard Sartre started in 2015 with simple three-hand watches featuring colorful NATO-straps. But it became clear pretty quickly that there was more to come.
The basic models came – and still come, of course – with four different cases: stainless steel, gold, pink gold and black; each with fitting hands and indices with either silver or black dials. Each model features central hands for hours, minutes and seconds.
According to personal preference and wrist size the Gaspard Sartre watches come in two different sizes; with a diameter of 36 or 42 millimeters. But the actual diversity is provided by the colorful NATO straps. There are many different versions that can be chosen for each watch and with every timepiece an additional black bracelet will be delivered. If more understatement should be necessary at some point.
Since this first collection hit the market, much has happened. New NATO-straps were added repeatedly, including a football edition this summer. Also upscale and distinguished leather bracelets – in smooth and croc leather look – and watches with zirconia instead of indexes on the dial.
And now there are watches with mesh bracelets – and they are gorgeous! They again come in stainless steel, gold, pink gold and black but also with new dials. Apart from dials in black and silver now Gaspard Sartre offers watches with gold and pink gold dials, matching the bracelets. Naturally, these watches are also available in the two different sizes (36 and 42 millimeters in diameter) and come with an interchangeable black NATO-strap.
We are keen on the watches with mesh-bracelets, but we are thrilled about the new multifunctional watches. These timepieces are only available with a diameter of 42 millimeters, but that should be fine for the wrists of most women and men. Due to the large diameter the dials are beautifully uncluttered and legible. Apart from hours, minutes and seconds these multifunctional watches also feature day, date and a 24-hour-display at six o’clock. The latter can be adjusted independently and therefore be used as a second timezone.
And the colors! Apart from all the standard ones – silver and black dials with various colored cases and bracelets – there are also green, blue and red watches. The latter two come with either stainless steel or pink gold cases. All multifunctional watches feature a leather bracelet with croc effect.
However, we would have loved to see these watches with chronograph functions. That would have jacked up the price a bit, but still. But maybe we will see that in the future.
All Gaspard Sartre watches are powered by quartz movements.
For the watches with mesh-bracelets as well as for the multifunctional watches applies that they can be worn with the interchangeable NATO-straps. Everyone who has one or several of them in the appropriate size at home can mix and match. All NATO-straps can also be bought individually.
The Gaspard Sartre mesh in stainless steel costs $325, the most expensive one $380. For the multifunctional watches it’s $515.
