The Ulysse Nardin Freak X goes “Ice & Fire”

Today we’re introducing two new models radical Freak X models by Ulysse Nardin that are equipped with a touch of danger. One of the two is dressed in lava red carbon-fiber, the other presents itself in a cool frosted white force of nature.

The unique construction and design of the two models takes the Freak concept to a new level and lets you see how its gears are driven. Just as they represent the contrast between icebergs and fire-breathing volcanoes, these two contrasts also provide an exciting foretaste of the watchmaker’s upcoming innovations. Ulysse Nardin has ventured to the Xtreme to depict the primal forces of the earth with these two freak timepieces. So let’s take a closer look at Freak Ice in Titanium and Freak X Magma in glowing red carbon fiber and with Titanium in black DLC coating.

Freak X Magma

The combination of ultra-light carbon fibre with glowing red epoxy resin makes every Freak X Magma a unique specimen. The technology reduced to the essentials is ultra-light, scratch-resistant and streamlined. The volcanic combination of red and black is full of energy; masculine, angular and red like lava: Ulysse Nardin’s Freak X Magma is a force of nature and at the same time a watch with style and elegance. The combination of matt and polished effects on the bezel, coupled with the smooth dial, evokes the contrasts of volcanic landscapes. The bright red Super-LumiNova appliqués allow the time to be read even in total darkness.
The sapphire crystal back reveals the automatic calibre UN-230. The movement comes in a 43 mm case that is water-resistant to 50 meters.
The red stitching on the black leather strap evokes volcanic obsidian and flowing lava.

Freak X Ice

Ice and fire unite in the white heat of the new model Freak X Ice. The model is reminiscent of prehistoric glaciers and is a perfect companion on a journey into the unknown. The alabaster colour of the titanium casing is extremely attractive.
The blue indexes and Super-LumiNova accents are reminiscent of polar ice streams. Ulysse Nardin has also equipped the Freak X Ice with a sapphire crystal back so that the UN-230 caliber can be viewed at work. The automatic movement operates at a frequency of 3 Hz and provides a power reserve of 72 hours.
The robust white leather strap comes with a rubber coating.
