Ressence is a unique company; one half a watchmaker, the other 2.0 avant-garde designer. Accordingly, the brand is known for its bold and innovative timepieces, which combine slim design with an unmistakable time display. Although Ressence prefers to challenge the status quo of mechanical watchmaking, its creations are always elegant.
This year, the manufacturer introduced a special innovation that we don’t want to deprive our readers of: the Ressence Type 1DXB, a sand-coloured, openwork version of the Type 1 Squared from Seddiqi & Sons.
The new Ressence Type 1DXB is slimmer, more elegant and also a tick more traditional than many of the other watches in the current collection. It is equipped with a cushion-shaped case made of polished titanium, which has a diameter of 41 mm and a height of 11 mm.
The most striking feature of the type 1DXB is the unique display of time. Instead of the traditional central hands, Ressence has equipped this watch with its ROCS (Ressence Orbital Convex System) display module. Powered by the specially modified caliber 2892, the satellites rotate around their own axis and the center axis of the watch at the same time. The minutes are displayed from the centre, hours, seconds and the day of the week are displayed on auxiliary dials. The interaction of the individual displays is intuitive, unique and extremely fascinating and we are sure that you will never tire of observing the movements.
The colours and decoration of the dial are particularly new. Here, Ressence was inspired by Arabic geometric patterns, creating an open dial that works with natural light to create a unique shadow play.
Arab inspiration is further enhanced by the sandblasted, sand-coloured dial. The hands and indexes are white and equipped with Super-LumiNova, creating a fresh overall impression.
The Ressence Type 1DXB is worn on a light brown leather strap and is limited to only 19 pieces.
