German watchmaker Sinn recently unveiled a number of new models and with them a brand new collection All of the models in the line 105 come with the distinctive sporty, functional feel we have learned to expect from Sinn. Four versions make up the collection at the moment, featuring a day/date display or UTC complication and being available with a black or white dial.
The four models in the new line are two basic versions: The 105 St Sa and the 105 St Sa UTC, with the two models then each available in two different dial colours. All the watches share the same dimensions, are equipped with a brushed stainless steel case which has a diameter of 41mm and is water-resistant to 20 bar.
While the cases are the same, the multifunctional rotating bezels of the two versions differ from each other. They are both bi-directional, but the bezel of the 105 St Sa is equipped with a design that offers a 12-hour scale via which a second time zone can be read. In addition, another scale is used to measure the elapsed time. The 105 St Sa UTC on the other hand uses an independent 24-hour hand which is combined with the 24-hour scale on the bezel to show the second time zone.
All models in the new 105 collection are boasting simple, wonderfully balanced and superbly legible dials, whether they are black or white. The 105 St Sa features an unusual stacked day and date display at the 6 o’clock position, while the orange GMT hand is the first thing that catches the eye at UTC version (its sister features an orange seconds hand). The generous use of luminous colour on the hands and indexes guarantees excellent readability even at night.
The dials are protected by a robust and anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
All models are powered by automatic movements from Selitta. In the 105 St Sa it’s the SW 220-1, in the 105 St Sa UTC, the SW 330-1. Both operate at a frequency of 4 Hz and are powerful, highly reliable workhorses.
As usually the customer is can choose the bracelet for the watches in the new collection – stainless steel bracelets are available for all models as well as black leather or rubber bracelets. The prices of the 105 St Sa and the 105 St Sa UTC differ slightly from each other; in addition, it also depends on the strap – a leather strap being the cheapest option.
